Season 2 of SSV is the ‘Season of the Witch’. It explores the voices of women that speak to ‘women’s ways of knowing’. The voices of sorceresses, historians, seers, and artists.
It is also my opportunity to branch out a little. Shortly I will be changing the way She Speaks Volumes is presented. I have created a thing called The Amuseum. It really is just a thing. She Speaks Volumes will be presented as a series within The Amuseum. Why? Because there are other ideas that I want to explore in addition to feminist history (magic, fairytales + meaning, and panpsychism) and The Amuseum idea me to see still see these ideas as unified.
Season 2 of SSV begins with Leonora Carrington. I will be covering two books (at least) by Carrington over this season. Episode 1 is her subjective account of being involuntarily committed in wartime Madrid. The other is the Hearing Trumpet, a lively, irreverent tribute to female friendship, old women, and magic.
