I'm the sickest that any human has ever been ever. I'm barely clinging to life. Nobody in the history of time has ever suffered more than me ever...
I'll be honest, man flu has got me HARD.
After a couple of weeks of gigging in the Caribbean (not the best start admittedly to a post seeking sympathy) I have finally come crashing back to reality upon my return back to the colder european shores.
Within a day of landing I have been struck down and I'm now completely bed ridden, not able to eat or drink anything with a wildly furious throat infection which has left me with fevers, chills, sweats, headaches, the works!!
I of course, having an innate desire to stand out from the crowd and separate myself from the banal and mundane have concocted a nasty dose of strep throat rather than just being like all the cool kids and grabbing COVID.
Just in time to detract from my well earned rest and recuperation at home after an arduous caribbean season (did i mention the caribbean and how tough it was singing on luxury ships in the beautiful sunshine)
I've spent the past two days lying in a dark room with the occasional foray to the kitchen seeking food and sporadic attempts to get some fresh air outside.
This evening has been the first time I've been able to face a computer screen and in a suitably characteristic fit of epic procrastination I have used it to type up one of my rambling nonsensical but mildly entertaining posts in lieu of completing all the serious admin and life work that has been slowly building up like an Everest of responsibility.
That is an issue for future Stephen to deal with and like Chief Vitalstatistix says "tomorrow never comes" (really betraying my age and impeccable taste there)
So in the meantime please keep me in your thoughts as I battle valiantly against a disease which would no doubt be a hindrance to mere mortals but to which I have decided to succumb completely and wallow in a gratuitous mix of self loathing and self pity.
On the upside it does mean I finally get a chance to say thank you so much to all the new people who have joined and to welcome you to this blog where I produce sporadic content of varying value.
As well as affording me the opportunity to touch base with all the fantastic patrons of the arts who have supported all along!!
As ever I will be striving to provide distractions from the everyday toil that is existence (thats the man flu dramatically talking) and will continue to keep things light hearted!
