Just a few days ago, I gained my 2000th subscriber. It seems unbelievable, really, because it wasn't that long ago that I was struggling just to get my 20th subscriber. I kept plugging away, making videos each week that no one was watching, but then something strange happened. Suddenly, I made it past 20. At the 6-month mark, I hit 100. YouTube is a strange animal. I've been struggling for the last eight months to get my videos in front of an audience. Between June 9, 2020 and December 31,2021, I only gained 99 subscribers, with at least 15% of those being my family and friends. I then gained 66 for the month of January, so it was still slow and steady. Then February rolled around, and Boom! All of a sudden, the algorithm picked up two of my videos, and I gained another 912 subscribers. I have no idea why it works like... more
