ANTI-VAX = PRO-GUN/ANTI-GUN = PRO-VAX
The anti-vax position is a mirror of the anti-gun position. We're seeing the needle versus the gun barrel showdown building up as the door-to-door vax proselytizing gets started. My contention is that guns and vaccines are merely political props in a contrived dialectic designed to ensure the Left and Right never see eye-to-eye on anything.
The Left has an irrational fear of guns. The Right has an irrational fear of vaccines. This is not a coincidental polarity.
Gun owners make anti-Second Amendment types feel unsafe. They want to ban guns.
Anti-Vaxxers feel unsafe around the vaccinated. They are known to shun and ban the vaccinated. Some believe the vaccinated are now marked by Satan.
Anti-Gun types feel like they might be shot against their will by a gun owners.
Anti-Vaxxers feel like they might get vaxxed (shot) against their will, so they want to ban vaccines.
BOTH FEAR OF THE GUN BARREL AND FEAR OF THE VACCINATION TAP INTO INSECURITIES ABOUT BOUNDARIES. THE OPINIONS OF THE PRO AND ANTI VAXXERS EXTENDS TO POSITIONS ON NATIONAL BORDERS AND SELF-DEFENSE.
Compare the two with regards the role of the individual versus the collective when it comes to self-defense:
a) Anti-vaxxers support strong national borders to keep invaders out, the individuals right to bear arms in self defense, and the right to use their individual immune systems against viral invaders. They favor:
Strong national borders
Gun ownership, and
Individual immune systems
b) Pro-vaxxers support collectivized solutions to global governance and tend to open borders, they think the state should provide protection for the individual rather than gun ownership, and they support government injected immune systems. They favor:
Open borders
Gun control, and
Mandatory vaccination
The division reveals a parting between statists and anti-statists. In my opinion, the schism is the purpose to the vaccine and the gun control agendas, not public safety.
