I WAS going to use this as an assignment for a class I had to postpone till end of January - but then I forgot it doesn't start back up until, well, the end of January... and I couldn't wait.
The assignment was AABA form using pentatonic scales over F major (A sections) and F minor (B section) with 2 modulated chords in the second A section and a strict given progression in the B section. But... Have you ever heard a classical style/form using pentatonic that went viral back in the day? Yeah, me neither (I could be wrong though?); so this doesn't use the pentatonic scales.
What this DOES have though is my very first semi-serious attempt at a four voice harmony with periods and cadences and a bit of playing around with a lament progression and suspensions.
HUGE shout out to @Seth Monahan over at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6X9... for his most excellent explanation of many things I am still wrapping my head around. The work is rendered from Sibelius (with Noteperformer3)
