The long-awaited showdown between welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and top contender Gilbert Burns is set to headline UFC 258 on Saturday, Feb. 13 from the APEX in Las Vegas. Usman and Burns are quite familiar with one another as they have trained alongside as teammates in south Florida over the last few years, but now will separate to go toe-to-toe with the 170-pound title on the line.

Usman has been quietly one of the best fighters in the sport over the last six years as he boasts an undefeated record since joining UFC in 2015. He has taken out every competitor to stand in his way, including Demian Maia, Rafael dos Anjos, Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal. Burns, meanwhile, is no slouch himself. The Brazilian has won six in a row since moving up to 170 pounds, including big wins over Maia and Woodley.
Kamaru Usman aims for the third defense of his welterweight title against former teammate Gilbert Burns in the main event of UFC 258, which will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
It's the UFC's second pay-per-view event of 2021 following Dustin Poirier's stunning knockout of Conor McGregor at UFC 257 last month
The first UFC championship fight of 2021 occurs on Saturday at UFC 258 when Kamaru Usman battles No. 2-ranked Gilbert Burns for the welterweight title from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Usman and Burns were set to square off at UFC 251 in July. Unfortunately, a little over a week before the fight, Burns tested positive for COVID-19 and was pulled from the show.
Usman stayed on the show and ended up facing heated rival Jorge Masvidal in the headliner. The 170-pound titlist put on a clinic, beating Masvidal by unanimous decision to defend his belt for the second time successfully.
Even though Burns didn't take on Usman, he still was able to compete inside the Octagon twice in 2020 to cement himself as a top contender. In March, Burns stopped former middleweight and welterweight title challenger Demian Maia and then dominated former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley at the end of May.
Can Usman continue his quest as the greatest welterweight of all time? Or does Burns pull off the upset and rock the apple cart?
If you are a fan of the UFC, you may be wondering what time UFC 258 starts. We make it easy for you by giving you the time all the action begins.

Usman was set to face the No. 2-ranked Burns last July at UFC 251, but the Brazilian was pulled 10 days before the fight after contracting COVID-19. Usman's rival Jorge Masvidal stepped in on short notice but was dominated by the Nigerian champion.
But now the two former teammates at American Top Team will meet and both carry significant momentum heading into the fight. Usman is currently riding a 16-fight winning streak and has yet to lose during his tenure in the UFC since winning The Ultimate Fighter back in 2015.
Burns has been on a roll since returning to the welterweight division in 2019. He has won four straight in dominant fashion with victories over Tyron Woodley, Demian Maia, Gunnar Nelson and Alexey Kunchenko. But Usman is, by far, his stiffest test to date.
Usman and Burns are familiar with each other as training partners but nothing will simulate the feel of an actual fight with high stakes.
Broadcast coverage of UFC 258 will begin with the UFC Fight Pass prelims at 6:30 p.m. ET followed by the prelims at 8 p.m. ET. The pay-per-view event is set to begin at 10 p.m. ET.
