As you know, I am switching to Patreon. I’ve briefly mentioned the reason why in my last post, but to recap:

I’ve thought about this switch for a while, and although it is a bit of a hassle, I think it will be the right way forward. Read on to what that means for you.
How does it change billing?
Well, you should know, that with Patreon you will be charged on the first of every month for the past month. That means, if you sign up on May 2nd, you will be charged on June 1st for your May patronage. Right now, you are charged every 30 days from your first pledge. This change should make it all much easier for you and me as well.
When should I sign up to Patreon, and will I be charged twice when I do?
If you want to continue to support me and you sign up on Patreon, you should do that on September 1 or later. This way you will have gotten all the rewards for August (through this platform) and you will be charged for the September rewards on Patreon on October 1. I’ll post the link as soon as I launch!
Should I cancel my pledge on Buy me a Coffee?
Yes, you should do that now. Cancelling your pledge does not mean you will lose access, it only means you will not be charged again in September. I will manually cancel everyone on August 30th, if you haven’t done so already
Oh no, I didn’t cancel my pledge and now Buy me a Coffee charged me on August 31st for my September pledge! What now?
This should not happen, as I cancel all pledges on the 30th! I will refund this to you immediately! As you know, BMC renews the pledge after 30 days, and not at the beginning of the month. If you got charged that day, I will refund your pledge entirely and cancel your subscription, if you haven’t done so already.
What else changes for me with Patreon?
Nothing much will change, mainly the names for the different membership levels! But, if you sign up Between September 1 and 3 to the mailing tier (Sticker or Original Art), you will also get a handwritten postcard – I’ve just ordered the postcards and they will look amazing!! There are some minor changes, that I’ve listed here for you:
Deep Dive posts are now available to the second tier (digital downloads) as well and will only happen on request or if I have something exciting to share.
Stickers and physical goods will be sent out on the first and second of the next month, instead of the 30/32 of the current month – so you might get them 2-3 days later
Dormouse is now Fox, March Hare is now Cat, Mad Hatter is now Red Panda, and Cheshire Cat is now Big Friend
What about all the post on here?
I am currently in the process of transferring the process and deep dive posts over to my Patreon. So if you ever want to look at them again, you can do that easily!
I know this is all a bit much and I hope you are not too upset. I truly think that this change will be good for all of us, but I completely understand if you are not interested in supporting me on Patreon. The time here has been amazing and such a huge learning curve for me as well, but I am excited to streamline everything with the new platform and thus have some more time to create content for you. By the way, if there is anything else you’d like to see included in a membership tier – now would be the time to mention it! I’ll try to incorporate it 😊
