Tatacoa Desert, March 9th

Tatacoa Desert, March 9th

Tatacoa Desert, Villavieja - pretty colors, dryness and a heart in the evening clouds.

Short and magical stay around my first desert, in Villavieja, and a perfect spot to shake off the cold from Bogotá.

I've had a nice 22km hike through the desert with a couple of friends from Neiva, returning early night after jumping around from one place to the other, enjoying the peacefulness and hanging out with goats. The desert was beautiful, and in the sunset light I felt I wanted to stay there a lot longer. And I would've stayed at least 2 more nights, outside, in the hammocks, if not for the return dusty and sweaty to a town that had no water, and a private room (where we had all our belongings) with the door randomly opened by an absent hostel owner. Some things are left unseen and not done for me over there, so I might return. The water problem was still going on close to lunch time next day, when we left towards San Agustin.
