A series surveying the residents of Leeds on their thoughts and feelings on the topic of work. The purpose of the project is to create a depository of knowledge about labour and employment across this pivotal decade in the human story. My goal is to record an hour of opinion on this topic from one thousand people in the city of Leeds across the 2020s. Leeds, the largest city in the largest county on the UK mainland is a former imperial textile centre and is now a major UK financial centre. This series will document the city’s experiences through Brexit, creeping technological unemployment, new and ongoing resource wars, the ongoing removal of the welfare state and the accelerating ecological emergency.
