It's nearly here.
Tomorrow is midsummer, the longest day, the summer solstice, and it's also my birthday. That's right, tomorrow I start my 'mid-30s' and turn 34. But I'm not just here to wave that flag at you. I'm here to mention that as of next week, my kids will be on their summer holidays!
Now, take a scroll back to summer 2021, and my "Summertime Sadness" post was an entire mood in and of itself, but I'm not getting down this year. This year, over the summer, I will continue to post my "Wondering about..." parenting blog posts every 2 weeks, and I will not be publishing the other pieces. Both the Unabridged (Marked Ministry) Articles, and the Originals will be taking a break.
Not that there needs to be an explanation for this, but I'll be pausing those pieces:
To not add pressure to myself and avoid disappointment at not being able to keep up.
Make sure my mind is on the kids, and their summer.
AND there's some other things a-brewing!
I've been looking to expand on the type of things I write for a while now, and earlier in the year, I wrote my first ever short story. I have some ideas that I have been sitting on since then, and any extra time that I find myself with, I'd like to spend fleshing out those ideas. I expect it will be a labour of love, and I don't expect I will have anything quite ready for publishing just yet, but taking action and beginning the work is what needs to happen, and the time for that is now.
This is exciting to me, and I can't wait to publish them!
