Arkenforge & New Branding

Arkenforge & New Branding

Mar 14, 2021

As I've mentioned in the description of this page, and in posts, one of the main driving forces behind creating Wiley Gambit Gaming was a lack of pre-written assets for the cyberpunk genre of TTRPGs. To that end, not only am I building towards being the solution for that problem, but I'm also looking for other creators that are also building solutions for similar problems.

In this case, mapping. Arkenforge has a Kickstarter campaign going on that ends in 16 days. It's called the Sci-Fi Master's Toolkit. Based on the videos they've shown on their campaign page, I am very very excited about this. I am not a mapmaker. I've dabbled, of course, creating maps for my own "tables" and throwing things together with as many free assets as I can find on the internet, but this will allow me to add higher quality maps to the adventures and modules that I'll be writing.

Clearly, with the way that TTRPGs go, not all players will visit all of the same locations, so these maps will be intended for "as-needed" use only. Also note, though, that the first handful of modules that I write up won't have maps because I won't have access to these cyberpunk assets until December.

In the meantime, we continue to wait for the slow march towards April and the release of the Open Game License for Lowlife 2090 so that I can make my final edits of the first two installments: Adventures in Babysitting, and Notable Bars, Clubs, and Cafes: Navy Blue.

I also wanted to bring your attention to the branding for Wiley Gambit Gaming. I recently commissioned someone on Fiverr to create a logo for me. I think that I will likely continue to shop around a little bit and commission another one or two artists before I land on one that I am 100% happy with. For now, though, we are testing the waters with this first commission.

Let me know what you think!
