This digital painting was inspired by a little doodle in my sketch book which I decided to upload to photoshop and developed the design further. It's also inspired by my fascination with fungi and love for little creatures, like snails.
For me the artwork seems to convey the cyclical nature of life and death. Fungi are heavily associated with death and decomposition, yet they are also essential for the regeneration of natural environments, for sustaining life, and for allowing life to flourish.
