Identity

Jan 20, 2021

Our identities are predominantly shaped by experiences from our pasts and especially, I believe, during the very formative years of our childhood. I consider my love and passion for nature and other animals a significant part of my identity.  It is a big driving force behind the decisions that I make, the things that I do and the way that I live my life. Many of my childhood memories are of being outside, exploring natural environments and spending time with all the different creatures I had the pleasure of meeting. This series of paintings is a depiction of my childhood love for other animals and how this influenced my decision to be vegan. It aims to convey the shared innocence and love in the interactions between a child and various other animals.
