Every Damn Lists (EDLs)

Oct 14, 2021

I have lists for Every Damn Day, Every Damn Week, Every Damn Month, Every Damn Quarter and Every Damn Year.  And they are sorted into bare minimum, realistic, and ideal.

Do I keep up with them perfectly?  Absolutely not.

Do they still help massively? You bet.

What they do is help take some of the thinking and decision-making out of the equation.

If I'm having a shit day or week, I know what the bare minimum I need to do is to keep the important balls in the air.

If I'm having a pretty good week, I can tackle some of the things from the ideal list that don't get done as often. It all balances out.

Note: you don't have to be perfect with this.  So many of my clients won't even try because they know they'll miss one and then feel bad and never come back to it.  Seriously, drop the drama and guilt, it doesn't matter. Infrequently is better than never.

Now, that said, create some review checklists for yourself and do them as often as you can get around to it.  This might be a weekly review to see what deadlines are coming up, clean up your desktop/downloads, or actually go back through the emails you set aside to "read later." Or maybe a quarterly review to see if there are any subscriptions you aren't using and could cancel.

The attached download is a workbook with some sample starter lists to help you implement this into your own life.
