You'll often find that you need to change the speed of a video clip when working on an edit. It could be for technical reasons like making a clip fit in a certain spot on the timeline or making it match a beat of the music. Often it's for dramatic impact or creative purposes like speeding up a sequence to show a passage of time - time-lapse or to slow down the speed to emphasise movement, details or importance for the story.
In this video, I'll be showing you how you can make a constant speed change to a video clip on the timeline in DaVinci Resolve 17 in a couple of simple ways.
A constant speed change alters the speed of the entire clip by the same amount.
