The long awaited Marvel's Midnight Suns is quickly approaching around the corner. For those of you waiting and anticipating what's looking like will be one of the best Marvel games to date, (which is saying something considering the love I have for the Lego Marvel collection) the wait is almost over. Midnight Suns is set to debut October 7th, just in time for the spooks and thrills that fall in line with this tale.
Marvel Suns will be a single player, tactical strategy RPG. Developed by Firaxis Games, and Virtuous, and ran off Unreal engine. This game in all honesty, looks like it will be fanfreakingtastic.
The story in this dark timeline begins with Lilith, the mother of Demons, subduing Venom and corrupting him to use for her own bidding. Lilith, already raising an army herself and creating a team up with Hydra, sets out to basically take over all of humanity.
There are a plethora of Heroes you can choose from, and because it's such a dark timeline, you'll be immersing yourself in a much more wicked way than you're used to with Marvel heros.
The lineup for the characters you choose are definitely not the batch you would think would work well together either. So half the fun is leading them and keeping them together in order to save the world.
You can choose to play as a new character, which is fully customizable, is a hunter class. The Hunter, spoiler alert, is also a child of Lilith, a character awoken by Marvel to help defeat the uprising evil. There are also 12 other characters to choose from as well, including Spiderman, Blade, and Dr. Strange. If you grab the premium pass, that also includes four more characters after the game is released, more content, missions, and more.
So far they've shown off four characters we know will or have already fallen to the clutches of Lilith; The Hulk, Venom, Sabertooth, and Scarlet Witch.
The trailers that have come out look fantastic, not to mention the dark side to Marvel is appealing. There haven't been many games like it so far, and covering such a dark part of the comics puts an edge to how people see who don't read them.
If you're a Marvel lover, love the lore, or your just into Heroes kicking ass. This definitely would be a game to check out. So far it is one of the most anticipated games of the year, now to see if it's worth all the delicious hype!
