Analogue Farm is a community interest company in Whitworth, Rossendale. It was founded in 2018 by artists and creative educators Mary Stark, David Chatton Barker, Rachael Barker and Matt Davies. We live with our three young children on a small farm with hens, ducks, horses and cats. We grow as much of our own fruit, veg and herbs as possible. We are in a semi-rural location close to Healey Dell Nature Reserve and the South Pennine moors, yet within an hour of Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.
Our activities include arts workshops, events, and exhibitions. These draw upon and highlight the nature, folklore and history of our surrounding landscape. Our artistic approach focuses on ‘slow media’ - supposedly outmoded technologies and practices that involve direct tactile engagement with materials and the land. We understand plants, trees, wildlife and community as of utmost importance, aiming to benefit future generations beyond our lifetime.
