Portraits in the Sun

May 12, 2021

Colour or monochrome seems to be a hang-up point for many, myself included at times. But, really there is no need to overthink it, there is definitely no need to make it fit anything else in your work, and social media is the last place that deserves to receive your consideration when you are creating something.

Monochrome brings out the features, the eyes, the person, and it helps remove any distractions. Your scarf may be a beautiful turquoise blue, perfectly matched to your spring coat, but it's YOU who is the most important part of the image. The buildings behind you, with reflections of the glistening sun in the big floor-to-ceiling windows, are equally unimportant.

Just you is enough.
