The Art House pantry shares food diverted from becoming waste with the local community via a drop-in pantry and cafe three days weekly. People can access fresh food, nonperishable items, toiletries and other essentials.
People from all walks of life come to stock up on groceries for themselves and their families. Many of these individuals are struggling to make ends meet, and the pantry provides a vital lifeline for them to access nutritious food on a pay-as-you-feel basis.
In addition to providing food, we run a community cafe when the pantry is open - this is a vibrant social hub where people can connect and is open to anyone.
Pay forward a hot drink for somebody, pass along a kindness and make somebody's day! We add all paid forward drinks to our 'wheel of kindness' so that those using the cafe can take a peg and use it to pay for their drink or food.
This will be added to our quota for this month and offered to somebody who needs it. At the end of the month, any unclaimed drinks will be turned into donations for our community pantry supplies, covering the cost of collecting surplus food and sharing it.
