I really love smoothies and smoothie bowls, the main difference is really just the amount of processing and liquid content.

Did you know that the movement of your jaw in a chewing fashion actually starts part of the digestive system and juices happening?? So does salivating which is what begins to happen for me at the smell of beautiful fresh berries - the human body is pretty cool 😎 and the use of our senses really is for much more than you can imagine!

You can also add some additional super foods to this depending on what you need, I’ll do a post that includes some great suggestions, but in terms of green and keeping in,one with super foods for this one - Matcha would be awesome, but a touch bitter, and moringa fabulous too and try adding a drop of your favourite citrus oil (therapeutic or food grade essential oils) like green mandarin or tangerine 👏👏

SERVES 1

INGREDIENTS

  • Banana, frozen - 60g

  • Coconut water - 100ml

  • Vanilla protein powder- 30g

  • Mixed berries - 50g

  • Frozen zucchini - 60g

  • Frozen spinach - 40g

  • Sunflower seeds- 1/2 tsp

  • Walnuts- 1 tsp

  • Chia seeds- 1/2 tsp

METHOD

  1. Blend together the banana, coconut water, protein powder, zucchini and spinach until thick. Add more ice to thicken further if you wish.

  2. Pour into a bowl and top with mixed fresh berries, goji berries, seeds and walnuts.
