Good evening everyone. I’m just popping by to reveal this weeks prompt which is SPLASH!
Living on an island we’re surrounded by water so over the past few days I’ve visited Cowes, Yaverland, Compton and Ryde to capture some shimmering, rolling and splashing water.
I've included several photos inspired by not one, but two islands (there is a Lanzarote seascape in there, can you guess which one?). Along with a dramatic one from the 2019 Round The Island Race, just for a bit of nostalgia.
But it doesn’t just have to be the sea. It could be puddles, rain, a running tap, the ripples in a bath. Let the word inspire you in any kind of way.
Whilst I'm hoping that the weather stays fair over autumn, here's some inspiration from Leonardo Da Vinci who enjoyed studying the flow of water in streams, rivers and weather. Here is a link to his picture 'A deluge' 1517-18. Take a look at the swirling, gestural marks he has made in chalk to capture the falling water.
