Let's Talk About It...

Let's Talk About It...

May 23, 2021

Wow. A month without a video. Where on earth have I been? Well, I've been taking care of some things. In April, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I had actually asked my previous doctor about this a couple times and the issue was dismissed. My current doctor not only diagnosed it, but went on to explain that it causes insulin resistance over time and also diagnosed me with type 2 diabetes.

Yeah...that wasn't what I wanted to hear. It wasn't what I've wanted to talk about in a video either. I know people are going to take one look at me and say, "Yeah, you're a diabetic because you're fat." Sighs. The truth is I'm fat because of all my other chronic illnesses. People don't understand that things like Fibro and PCOS can lead to weight gain. They just see what they see and want to tear you down.

So, I wanted to come on here and talk about it and spill my guts.

Another thing I wanted to put out there is that as much as I've ranted on the side effects and dangers of aspartame, I've been drinking things that have aspartame in them. I gave up my sweet tea with all the sugar. While I'm only drinking one aspartame beverage a day, I feel like a hypocrite. Why not just drink sucralose sweetened drinks? There's not a lot of evidence that proves sucralose to be any saver. Plus, the taste makes me gag. At least I can tolerate aspartame. Plus, I've always ranted about sucralose, too.

BUT, the good news is I'm going to switch from the aspartame drinks to ones sweetened with stevia. Stevia is natural and supposedly a much healthier option. Now, here's the other hypocritical point, the drink is a soda. It's called Zevia and is healthier than traditional sodas because there's no dye and limited ingredients. If you're interested, you can purchase it here - https://amzn.to/3hL2Po2 (the link will help support the channel as well). Some people say it takes some getting used to so we'll see.

Cutting back on carbs has made a huge difference in the pain. It's more of a steady background hum now than the in your face type of pain. I've also lost 15 pounds as of last Monday.

That's about all for now. I do have some videos planned and want to get back into the swing of things. I hope you're all doing well and doing your best to make good financial decisions.

Much love!

Amy
