Run Free by Colette Davison

a MMM Shifter Romance

The Story

Jax is an omega, Hugo is human, and their love is forbidden. They’ve spent the last seven years on the streets, relying on no one but each other.

When they collide with Dominic, they realize something has always been missing. Jax is keen to get to know the alpha, but Hugo resists the mate-call, worrying that, as a human, there will be no room for him.

The only way they can be free to love each other is to escape the UK, but will Dominic leave his life behind to find home with two younger men?

Run Free is an alternate universe MMM shifter novel, with fated mates, mpreg, an age-gap relationship, and a happy ending.

What I Liked

This book takes place in an alternate universe or an alternate reality. The prologue gave a good historical explanation of how sifters came about and why they were being "regulated". This is one of those details that added to this story. Aside from that, it had a real-life feel to it despite being a paranormal novel. It deals with homelessness, being unaccepted for being different, and government restricted emigration. Don't worry, you will be hooked within the first few pages!

All the characters were easily relatable. Hugo, the human, was my favorite character. I think it was because, I could see a little of myself in him. Always looking out for Jax and even when Dominic comes along, tries to remain strong for him as well. DESPITE HIS APPREHENSION.

I am trying to avoid too many spoilers...however I will say the sexual component ranked up there! What would you expect with a trouple. I am not sure where the author learned some of her gay scenes from, but she did hit them out of the park.

What I did not Care for

This is just me... I heard the word "slick" a few too many times in some of the scenes (physical, arousal, and during the "clean up"). I totally get that this is a part of the omega universe. This is just a personal taste thing for me. Overall, that did not take away from the story for me :-)

My Recommendation

This was my first Colette Davison gay romance book, it will not be my last! This was a well-done novel and hit on several real-life issues we are facing today.

I know this was a stand-alone novel, but admittedly, I am hoping it becomes a series.
