On top of the building you could see the town, & in the distance, the woods that surrounded it; “The woods of the Dead.” That was the name the woods acquired, the reason was very simple, the people that lived in the town used the wood of the trees to make coffins.
That was a majestic landscape, yes, his last scenery. Even if the rain blurred his view, it was beautiful still.
He became rain. Every inch of his body was drenched, but he didn’t move. How long was he there? Maybe four hours. His body was very cold, probably the hypothermia was starting to sweep into his organism, but he wasn’t ging to move.
He was the last person in the town, the doctor. Every other person in town was dead, there was no one else left. But him.
It was an epidemic, the thing that decimated that place, & the doctor was incapable of doing a thing. In that moment, the impotence was the only thing he felt inside him, he couldn’t save anyone. Nor the children, nor the old; nor his family.
He didn’t care, he just needed to do one thing, end that pandemic before it extended outside the town. Just one thing; jump.
