Medusa

& she asks herself, while Perseus sword made contact with her neck, how did she end there?

Before she had a family (or so she thought), a job & a goddess to worship, oh Atenea, her beloved Atenea, Medusa couldn’t love anyone more than her, but then Poseidon appeared.

She never understood the histories, the rumors; “The priestess was caught sleeping with Poseidon.” What were they even talking about? SHE was raped. SHE didn’t want anything with Poseidon. SHE worshipped Atenea. SHE loved Atenea. SHE was a virgin, & wanted to live & die like one.

Atenea saw Poseidon raping her, & the coward fleed as soon as he saw her. Atenea took pity on her stained body, & the goddess turned her in what she now was, so Medusa could defend herself.

But then, the histories changed.

Medusa was no longer a whore & a stained priestess, now she was a monster. Now she was a threat.

Her only sin was defending herself, trying not to get killed while living the rest of her existence in solitude. But then her head had a price.

Perseus' sword was cold, that was a strange thing to notice while being decapitated, but that was the only thing she could think at the moment. The coldness of the sword.

That cold was nostalgic, it reminded her of her body after Poseidon had his fun with her, Atenea’s magic felt so cold, full of sadness towards her. The floor in the caves she slept in was cold. & the blood that was now spilling in the same floor, strangely, was cold too.

There was a history Medusa never told, well, she supposess now Perseus was going to tell the history of his two children, cursed having to spend all eternity inside her, now they were free. Poseidon 's sons. Her sons.

They looked cold too.
