Those who are faced with suicidal feelings also feel shame, embarrassment and guilt for feeling the way they do. This article is written from personal experience of my own journey with this important issue. I understand the struggles faced by people experiencing such feelings because I went through them in repeated cycles myself. I cannot reiterate enough the importance of listening, understanding and believing a person who is suicidal. We also need to be aware that a person may feel suicidal but they may not tell you. Many events can trigger suicidal feelings, domestic violence, bereavement, mental health and more. What is important is that the person feels they have someone to talk to, whether they want to talk to a professional or someone else.
