Thirty $5 coffee cards delivered to the Royal Alexandra Pharmacy!
The pharmacy is a very unmarked and tricky to find part of a hospital if you don't know what you're looking for. No, I'm not talking about the Rexall on the main floor!
The central pharmacy serves the hospital inpatients, Operating Rooms, Emergency, Diagnostic Imaging...
This dept came in as a nomination from Theresa D.: "They work so hard behind the scenes filling drug orders; some need to be made by special techniques using raw ingredients. These patients in ICU and Covid wards often need complicated medication treatments. This means more consults for pharmacists, more compounding and checking for technicians and more repackaging and deliveries for assistants. All done with the utmost care for patient safety."
I approached the unmarked wicket window in a brick wall where a pharmacy assistant was sitting behind said hello and handed her the cards. She looked confused as I explained where they came from but hearing they were nominated and why her eyes lit up.
If you missed it, I did try to deliver here later on Thursday night but realized they weren't a 24x7 department so I ended up making this delivery over lunch today.
No new donations today, our total stays at that nice even $5634.00 from 164 donors. I have 13 depts worth of coffee left with 690 cards ($3450) delivered to 23 depts.

Tomorrow I'll start working on the urban Emergency departments with the Grey Nuns Community Hospital first. 30 x $5 each except the Royal Alex and U of A where I might take 50 because they're so large.
