July UK Members' FREE GIVEAWAY!

July UK Members' FREE GIVEAWAY!

Jul 24, 2021

So as promised, I'm pleased to announce this months' free giveaway - this brilliant brand new Milwaukee M12 BPD sub-compact percussion drill driver, which I bought at Screwfix the other day - they're not affiliated in any way with this giveaway by the way (Screwfix? helping creators? You'd be lucky!!).

All UK Members of my BMC Channel are automatically entered into the Giveaway. The Giveaway closes on 30th July and we'll pick a winner by computerised random selection on Saturday 31st. The winner will be contacted by text and DM through BMC straight after.

Full Terms and Conditions are available to view here.

I thought I'd start with this particular Giveaway for a couple of reasons. Firstly, this has to be one of my favourite tools. I explain why 12v drill drivers are such an important tool in this video - although the BPD also has a percussion element. Milwaukee do a BDD which is identical in spec, weight and price except it doesn't have a hammer action, so although I am always advising you not to bother with combi drills given the hammer action is next to useless, I thought I might as well buy this one, given it was the same price as the BDD.

Previously I used a 12v Ryobi - which I did a blog post on back in 2015. I bought the Ryobi for a job I had out in Switzerland, and wanted a light tool that I could take in my hand luggage. Since then it's become my tool of choice for general drilling and screwing into wood - and my mate John, a carpenter by trade who himself has Makita tools, always reaches for the Ryobi when working with me.

But with Ryobi phasing it out, I decided it was time to replace it, and after hankering for years for a Milwaukee, I chose this. It's brushed rather than brushless, but that's not a disadvantage - I think us DIYers will struggle to ever wear out a brushed motor or for that matter, reap any serious benefits in our day to day DIY from a brushless motor. It's powerful, and unlike the Ryobi, comes with two 2Ah batteries.

I've also included this Erbauer bit set. Screwfix strategically position these in the aisle whilst you're queuing up to pay - an impulse purchase that I haven't regretted. It's size makes it perfect to grab as you're heading off on a DIY mission. In short, I use it all the time, almost as much as my DeWalt tool roll.

So good luck everyone, and massive thanks again for supporting me by becoming members of this Channel.

Best

Charlie
