Benzene - A Structured Study

Benzene - A Structured Study

Jul 19, 2020

We've just added a structured study task on the structure of benzene.

This task is designed to be self-contained. It should guide you through the learning required to understand the structure of benzene as the main example of an aromatic compound (an arene).

Along the way, you will need to recall and apply some fundamental aspects of Y12 chemistry including atomic structure, electron configurations, covalent bonding and enthalpy changes. This is a good revision activity!

There are also some ‘stretch and challenge’ activities that go beyond the A level specification. These are optional and are not required to complete the task.

The work is split into 4 ‘Lessons’. Full worked answers are also provided.
