So, while surveying all the benches on the island I found this..
.. and my heart sank.
I hoped that the bench didn't have a plaque - but it did. I tried to move it, but it was to heavy. I couldn't work out how the bench had ended up on the foreshore.
I asked a few knowledgeable people on the island, and they told me about a car accident that happened last year. It appears that a car came of the road and hit two benches. By all accounts the occupants of the car were very lucky not to be more seriously hurt.
