#3 Stigmatized Mesmerized

#3 Stigmatized Mesmerized

"I have absolutely no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sometimes so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom."

-Edgar Allan Poe

And still tweakers are some of the loneliest people I have ever met. That's the reason why i love what i do. Because i can make you forget about the horror of existence even if it's just for a little while or a brief moment. Hopefully even bring some comfort or something that makes you realize that you will never be alone. I got you homie. ❤️

The stigma is the cause of this being so normalized. We accept it and maybe even welcome it just to get away from eyes shooting knives at you, judging away, treating you as if you are the plague itself. People that treat you worse than they would a convicted murderer. The worst of all is that most of the time you actually engage with any 'normies' is when you're in recovery. Go figure. When you need support, love and the tools to believe that the future without meth is worth it all. But it's not that they treat you worse or anything, the attitude towards addicts is a permanent state of disgust and disbelief that you could ever be anything that could live a 'normal' life and contribute to society.

But where the fuck does the stigma even come from? Has the very few who fit the ideal description of a meth addict have such an immense effect that it lives on through millennia? I blame the internet. No, really. Type any sort of illicit substance name into the search bar and you are presented with a plethora of information on recovery, helplines, facts about meth and how it affects your health. But no reference to anything that would be deemed as 'glorifying' it, promotion, information on any real life users or people who know people that use, or any information beyond what i mentioned is your search results. It's nearly impossible to find real information regarding how to use (administer) meth, people who use daily and anything social or community-ish besides where the cesspools are, where the plagued gathers and how they ruin the world for everyone else.

These are strong opinions. They are just me sharing in my own safe space. But truly, all the people i have had the pleasure of meeting on this journey are stand-up, self-supporting actual contributing-to-society people. The best people I have ever met are meth addicts. Daily users. Be it smoking, snorting, slamming or up the one-way street, they are all not just normal people, but people that i deem better than most. But i know. 'That's exactly what a meth addict would say.' But even before i actually started using meth, i couldn't understand why no one or nothing i see IRL resembles anything close to what the stigma around meth is. Maybe because we need to look after ourselves x3 better than normal people because of the physical effects it has on a person, but using meth is the complete opposite of abusing it. And we are bound to a lonely existence because of no one understanding it. Very few users have anyone besides themselves, and those who have people in their lives are usually hiding that part away from their loved ones. Finding out there is an active community and sea of people who are just like you changes everything. The fucking internet should not be actively working against the other side of using. People who choose to use, are going to use regardless so if it's so set on harm reduction, why are they harming us by not providing sufficient (or any other) information about every single thing about methamphetamine?

Yeah, stigmatized. I conclude, mesmerized.

(Edit; I feel like I got a little lost in the end there. The main theme is clear though. There should be information regarding all aspects of methamphetamine to educate yourself. That could help some people make the choice of never using just because they could make that informed decision. It really is ridiculous how some people just accept stigmatized ideals and how negatively it affects everyone by concealing the truth.)

DON'T EVER START USING ANYTHING WITHOUT DOING YOUR OWN RESEARCH.

IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE DONE ENOUGH RESEARCH TO MAKE YOUR DECISION, DO MORE RESEARCH.

You can never have enough information about something that will affect your entire life. Gather enough information objectively to form your own opinions and make a well-rounded decisions. Never do something on a whim (fuck it yolo!?). Never do something just out of curiosity. Never abuse drugs.
