Choose not to live once.

Choose not to live once.

Jun 10, 2020

I'm sure you've heard of the saying 'You only live once.'

If you consider this line under the context of the life span we have here on earth, yeah, that sounds about right.

The said saying makes sense if your main idea of 'living' is through the limitation your physical body has left to enjoy. But that is not the only way how to think and live your life, right?

So instead of this limiting belief, the past few years, I started thinking this way instead--- 'I live every time I choose to appreciate what I have now and experience life every single day'. Sounds better, right?

Yes, I get it. The line 'You only live once' is actually coming from the context of inspiring or motivating people to 'seize the day' too. It's supposed to make people rethink that way they live their lives and make sure to grab the opportunities they are presented.

But over the years, that 'old' saying somehow lost its powers over me. There have been days when the same line that's supposed to motivate me, get up and move my ass, conquer the world, gets me to think of something negative instead. Sometimes, it builds up a mentality where I focus more on the limited time I have and feel panic since I still want to achieve a lot for myself.

Thus, the new line.

Instead of worrying unnecessarily about tomorrow, I appreciate what I have and be happy living my life today.

How about you?

What motivates or inspires you to live a full and happy life?
