Our volunteers repurpose disused to land into vegetable gardens to grow food to donate to food banks. This year, we're going big on growing potatoes from our two garden locations. We want to grow as many potatoes as possible to give to our neighbours.

But it's not just growing food for food banks, our gardens provide meaningful activity for our volunteers who are socially and economically excluded. Your donation contributes to our volunteers having a sense of purpose in life and a way for them to connect with nature and their communities in a way that benefits everyone.

As part of Egino Emerging's Vermiculture Pathway, we're publishing a how-to book on how prisoners can convert prison waste into fertilizer to use, donate and sell. This gives serving prisoners hands-on skills that can be used to start their own environmentally sustainable business upon release while diverting waste from landfills. Imagine the amount of free worm casting fertilizer that can be produced by the 90,000 serving prisoners in the UK.

Our HMP Worm Farm book is written and designed by former prisoners to empower serving prisoners to introduce fertilizer production within secure facilities.

We're repurposing wheelie bins into continuous flow wormeries where we'll convert food and garden waste into potent fertilizer to use in our volunteer gardens, donate to community gardens and sell to maintain our programmes.

Your donation will give our volunteers everything needed to acquire a pre-loved wheelie bin, convert it into a wormery and buy special composting worms.

We'll even give the wormery any name you choose. We'll post a photo of each donated wormery on the Egino Emerging blog.
