My last post was a year ago. I don't know why I stopped writing on this platform. Truthfully, I stopped writing publicly in early 2022. I also ceased speaking publicly, except for my quarterly talks with the cadets at TLETA.
I don't know why I'm writing today, except for the hope of donations. That's my honest reasoning. This is the first Christmas season that I did not sign the kids up for any Secret Santa program. I chose that because I'm working a good job as a Front Desk Specialist with the Police Department and because there are so many younger children whose families need more help than ours. I don't want to compete for donors within local organizations. Especially not when I can sell a few more things... or use this platform to sell my writing.
All I know is that as much as I love my job, it's part time. When I'm sick and need off, like a couple weeks ago, I don't get paid. And that's affected my Christmas budget more than expected.
But I do have some things for the girls. So the tree won't be empty. And we celebrated with Anthony and his wife at Thanksgiving so I'm grateful for that.
I had two other jobs but had to let them go for various reasons. Financially, that hurts. And I'm still searching for another part time job to supplement the PD.
