Hi!  I'm a Norwegian textile designer, artist and entrepreneur. I use mending to explore imperfectionism and impermanence, growth, change and decay. In a world where economic growth through consumption is the main goal, mending is a subversive act. Through visible and creative mending I'm turning the business model for clothes on it's head, making clothes more and more valuable the more they are worn out and mended. I have started a webshop for mending supplies (www.myvisiblemend.no) making mending more accessible to more people, while, once it's more established, also make enough to fund my more activist and artistic projects, my research, writing, and create space and time to share more knowledge, tutorials and instructions. I'm opening up to let you "buy me a coffee", so I can progress faster with my work, without needing to compromise on my values through collaborations, sponsored partnerships, investors or other influences. For the time being I don't offer much extra for those who are kind enough to support me, as my work and my priorities still shift a lot day to day and week by week due to my irregular income and I don’t want to give promises I can’t keep. I am slowly starting to add free downloadable embroidery templates that will be free for members.I want to share as much knowledge as possible for FREE and as I start creating more course material I intend to charge for it until production costs for each unit are covered and then unlock it and make it free for all, and in that way both respecting my own time while also staying true to my value of free access.  I believe we can not shift to a healthier and happier future for all without first covering our own needs so we can move away from a paradigm shift that tells us being good = suffering. It does not. I am towards a free and comfortable life for myself that allows me to then freely give to others without causing harm to myself and I wish for everyone to fight for their own right to nurture creativity, care, compassion and community for themselves and others.
