Here is our progress!

Here is our progress!

Dec 30, 2023

Thank you for being here!

It took me a long time to start this page for our community expansion plans, and I am still very jittery about it.

I started WomenInTechPK in 2016 to connect aspiring women in technology with role models. Since then, the community has become bigger than I ever imagined it.

In these years,

  • We started a coding boot camp called CodeGirls, taught coding to over 800 women, and placed nearly 300 of them in the tech industry.

  • We recently refreshed our website and have published interviews (79 so far!) with our members to help develop their digital footprint and spotlight their outstanding contributions. We also gave space for 27 guest posts by our members.

  • We started collaborating with conferences and events to ensure gender inclusion by connecting them with women speakers and giving discounted access to our members.

  • We hosted 11 in-person meetups, did a conference sponsored by Google, did a hackathon sponsored by CryptoChicks, and collaborated for a virtual job fair.

  • We hosted 8 Twitter Chats since January 2022 and have invited experts from multiple areas of expertise, including e-commerce, community building, learning and development, DEI, social impact, and startup funding.

  • We ran two cohorts of CryptoChicks online education programs and gave highly subsidized access to blockchain and AI courses to 40 Pakistan techies.

  • We have done 110 live sessions and webinars for skill-building and 85 community partnerships for various programs, projects, and events.

  • We worked with Tech4Girls and did multiple workshops on eCommerce and mobile app development for girls in Pakistan.

  • We organized The Girls in ICT Summit and CodeGirls TechFest in 2022.

  • We contributed to P@SHA's D&I framework. You can see it here: https://www.pasha.org.pk/pashapk/[email protected]

  • We hosted and published a whitepaper on D&I at 021Disrupt 2019. You can see it here: https://womenintechpk.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/White-Paper_Inclusion-and-Diversity-1.pdf

  • We recently published a DEI Practices for Conferences framework. You can see it here: https://womenintechpk.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/DEI-Practices-for-Professional-Events-and-Conferences-in-Pakistan.pdf

Now, my team and I (all volunteers) are looking to expand, and we need your help.

Help us reach out to more women and do more by chipping in.

With gratitude,

Faiza Yousuf
