[Project] Nautilus Terminal v4.1.0 released!

Oct 08, 2022

A new Nautilus Terminal version was released few days ago!

## What is Nautilus Terminal?

Nautilus Terminal is a terminal embedded into Nautilus, the GNOME’s file browser. It is always opened in the current folder, and follows the navigation (the cd command is automatically executed when you navigate to another folder).

Nautilus Terminal is handy to quickly run a command in the current folder.

## What's new?

It's been a while since Nautilus Terminal users have been asking to be able to customize terminal colors. Thanks to @Acervans, this is now possible! You can customize the palette color but also define if the bold text should appear brighter or not and the highlight background and text colors.

As usual, everything is configurable through DConf Editor. You can run it with the following command:

$ dconf-editor /org/flozz/nautilus-terminal

## The future of Nautilus Terminal

The future of the project is uncertain. It is currently not working with Nautilus 43, the latest version if the GNOME's file browser. The cause of the breakage is the switch of Nautilus from GTK 3 to GTK 4.

To be able to work again with newer Nautilus versions, Nautilus Terminal should be ported to GTK 4, and this will not be easy! I will try to work on it when the next Ubuntu version will be released (by the end of October), but I cannot promise any deadline for carrying out this conversion to GTK 4, neither if it will even be possible. 😅️
