Football and the First World War is a not-for-profit research website dedicated to building the most comprehensive online record of association football during World War One.
From launch in 2013, it was of paramount importance that all website content and research be available to everybody - free from charge or subscription cost. The site has grown exponentially since then, however, I am as committed to keeping its content free to access today as I was at the outset.
If you find the website of use, whether that be for academic purposes, research development or simply reading about the sacrifice your club made during the Great War, please consider showing your support by pledging the price of a coffee towards its upkeep and development.
As the website and all associated research costs are currently self-funded, any contribution, however big or small, will make a huge difference and help ensure the continued sustainability of the website. It will also help me develop new areas of content and continue to grow current ones such as the service database, roll of honour and multi-media section.
I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received since launching the website and feel honoured to have worked with some amazing people since then - including the Imperial War Museum, the Professional Footballers Association and the BBC to name but a few. It was also incredible to see my website used by the National Football Museum in their Greater Game: Football & the First World War exhibition in 2015.
The future is just as exciting and I look forward to you joining me on the journey!
