How to link your Payoneer to itch.io

How to link your Payoneer to itch.io

Aug 19, 2021

Hiya! I'm back again for more guides. If you saw this post and you're new to the whole Payoneer thing, you might as well need to check out my previous post for starters, as I will not be repeating what I said there again in this post.

Otherwise, if you know how to use Payoneer, let's get to it.

USING ITCH.IO

So, someone on twitter suggested me to write a guide for those who use itch.io to sell their digital products and games but cannot use Paypal as a means of payout. While I haven’t created a game myself at the moment (soon, in the future), I have a rough idea on how to use the website.

First of all, what is itch.io? It’s a website mostly for selling indie games, but you can also sell your digital products here (things like music, e-books, software, you name it).

This part of the guide will be very useful especially if you make video games, so if you belong to the game dev community, please do share this!!

I won’t be covering on how to register because it’s pretty self explanatory, so I will jump straight to how to add payouts to Payoneer.

Once you log in, go to dashboard:

Next, go to the payouts tab:

Once you arrived, scroll down to find the payouts to Payoneer option:

(there should be an option to connect to Payoneer here, this only shows up afterwards)

After you’ve connected to Payoneer, you can customize on how you receive your payouts by going to your account settings>payout mode on the publisher section

(the rest should be self explanatory, and uhhhh basically, you’re done!)

The payout mode can be changed anytime so you are free to adjust it according to your needs.

Oh, before I forgot, if you choose ‘Direct to you’ as your payout mode, you will need to keep an eye on the payment processors settings as well:

From my understanding, you don’t need to have a Paypal/Stripe account that allows you to receive money, but if you chose ‘Direct to you’ as your payout method, you will need to connect to these services to allow them to process your customers’ payment. Otherwise, if you select 'Collected by itch.io', you don't need to do anything here.

And uhh, that pretty much sums up what I want to cover in this guide this time.

So you’ve reached the end of this guide? Liked this post and want more of these in the future? Follow me on my socials through this link here.

Who am I? I’m just a Creative Multimedia 2nd year degree student from Brunei, who also makes cute and colourful art for fun and work, while also indulging in anime and video games content. My main interests at the moment are Fire Emblem series, Fate series/Type-Moon works, Persona series and adventure/mystery visual novels. Follow me on Twitter if you want to hear me scream about them XD.

Until next time, take care and stay safe y’all!
