God Change Me

Judges 6:14

Gideon asked where is God in all the current troubles he was seeing. Gideon is asking why God isn't doing something. God’s response is for us to solve the problems by allowing God to work through us.

We may then respond that we can’t solve the world’s problems. That we aren’t skilled enough or worthy. That someone else should do it. Are we refusing to do anything about the issues we complain about?

God can correct all problems but often they start from the sinful decisions we make. God gives us free will to choose to do good or evil. So if we want to change the evil we see then we must decide to follow God’s will. Choose God.

Even if the evil is being done by someone else, we are the ones who need to confront it with God's will. How else can they hear the divine if not by God speaking to them through us. If others can only see the worldly then we in the world must bring God to them.

Let us think about what issues in the world trouble us. Are we hearing God’s call for us to action? We individually may not be able to end world hunger but we can feed our neighbor on the street who is hungry. Let us not focus on the largeness of the problems but on how God can make change in the smallest of things. Starting with our day-to-day decisions.
