Jesus was revealing a glimpse of his divinity. Peter out of fear interrupted God and made it about himself. Peter spoke about his goodness rather than God’s. Even though he saw the divinity of Jesus Peter called Jesus teacher.
How often do we interrupt God when God’s divinity is being revealed? When something holy is happening are we making it about ourselves and taking credit for it? Is our focus more on what we can do instead of what God is doing right before our eyes?
God can be seen in others through whom the Holy Spirit works through. In small acts of charity. Even in the actions of people we dislike. Are our eyes focused on God to notice?
Peter’s ego was dominating his heart before God. How can we suppress our ego today to begin to see God working in front of us? Let us stop focusing on our abilities and strengths and begin seeing the greatness and wonders of God.
