¡Ok! Este proyecto ha empezado de forma interesante...
¿Qué tanto hemos avanzado en estos cuatro días?
No tanto como esperaba pero mejor de lo que creía.
La idea original de este proyecto era hacer las mini ilustraciones del Tintubre basadas en la lista "oficial" que habían sacado.
¡Hice la lista y todo! Tal cuál cómo solía hacerla: Veo la palabra, imagino una escena, anoto lo importante y continuo con la siguiente, pensando en una narrativa.
Pero descubrí muy pronto que esa técnica no me iba a servir aquí.
Un error que he cometido, es que les he mostrado contenido sin contexto.
Ven a los personajes pero no saben NADA al respecto.
Y días antes de la muerte de mi computadora, yo estaba jugando una "Novela Visual" de point and click basaba en el Fantasma de la Ópera que encontré en Steam:
Una característica que me gusta de este juego es que tiene "Fichas" de personaje, así como ilustraciones archivadas que van revelando aspectos interesantes del personaje conforme avanza la historia y la investigación.
Este juego está MUY basado en el libro original. Entonces la historia es distinta a las adaptaciones más modernas de la obra, que están basadas en el musical de Andrew Llyod Webber.
Entonces, retrocedí un poco y volví a organizar mi lista, teniendo en mente a los personajes.
¿De qué va entonces "DEATH DANCERS: El Fantasma de la Ópera" AU?
"Tyron, un determinado semi-elfo alquimista, ha pasado los últimos 30 años de su vida investigando los funestos eventos ocurridos en la Ópera Popular de Falias, que culminaron con la caída del Gran Candelabro, trayendo consigo la repentina muerte de la Condesa Nessana de Luar, el rapto del Principe Mino de Zegheris y la desaparición de sus hermanes gemeles: Núvol y Thyrna Lasnamorë."
Recordando mis borradores del AU, pude contar alrededor de 18 personajes activos en la historia...
¡Y CON SOLO DIBUJARLOS A ELLOS LLEVARÍA LA MITAD DE LA LISTA DE 31 PROMPTS!

¿Cuáles son los personajes y el reparto?
Mi AU está basado en TODAS las entregas del Fantasma de la Ópera que he podido encontrar y estudiar, empezando por el libro original, seguido por la película del 2004, detalles de la película de 1990, la obra musical del 2011 y curiosidades del videojuego que mencioné anteriormente.
Y al momento de escribir la historia, el reparto quedó de la siguiente forma:

¿Cómo van las ilustraciones?
Según mis cálculos, pensaba que podría hacer de 6 a 7 sketches sin problema, así como relleno las hojas de mi sketchbook para practicar.
Estaba equivocada.
Por alguna razón, estás mini ilustraciones me están tomando más tiempo de lo esperado y en un día puedo hacer un máximo de 4 bocetos (si es un buen día) y mínimo 2.
En los últimos cuatro días logré hacer los sketches de los primos 12 personajes... Y nada de entintado.
Tomando en cuenta eso, he tomado la decisión de darle prioridad a los bocetos y completar las 31 cartas a lápiz y ya después hacer el entintado con más calma.
Pero a final de cuentas, me está gustando bastante este reto, pese a todas la horas que me he tardado corrigiendo caras una y otra vez.
me ayuda a visualizar a estos personajes en un mundo diferente y a diseñar otros que solo viven en los manuscritos de la obra original.

Ok! This project has started on an interesting way...
How much have we advanced in these four days?
Not as much as I expected, but better than I thought!
The original idea of this project was to make Inktober Mini-illustrations based on the "official" list they released.
And I even prepared a list and all! Just as I used to do it: I see the word, imagine a scene, take notes on what's important and then continue with the next one, trying to think up a cohesive narrative.
But I soon discovered that this technique was not going to work here.
My mistake was to show you content without context.
You've seen my characters but know nothing of them!!
And days before the death of my computer, I was playing a Point and Click Visual Novel based on the Phantom of the Opera that I found on Steam:
One thing I liked about that game was that it had character "sheets", like little illustrations saved up that reveal interesting aspects of the characters as both the story and the investigation advance.
This game is VERY based in the original book, so the story is quite different to the more modern adaptations that are actually more based in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical.
So, I backed up a bit and re-organized my list, having my characters in mind.
What's "DEATH DANCERS: The Phantom of the Opera AU" all about then?
"Tyron, a determined alchemist half-elf has spent the last 30 years of his life investigating the grim events that took place in Falias Popular Opera, that culminated in the falling of the Great Candelabra and the sudden death of the Countess Nessana of Luar, the kidnapping of Prince Mino of Zegheris and the disappearance of Tyron's twin siblings: Núvol and Thyrna Lasnamorë."
Remembering the early sketches of the AU, I could count around 18 active characters in the story.
AND ONLY DRAWING THEM WOULD TAKE UP HALF OF MY 31 PROMPT LIST!

What's the character roster then?
My AU is based in an amalgamation of ALL the Phantom of the Opera adaptations I could find and study, starting with the original book, then the movie from 2004, the one in , the musical of 2011 and some curiosities from the aforementioned videogame.

How are those illustrations going?
According to my calculations, I thought I could make 6 to 7 sketches without any problems, just as I fill up the pages of my sketchbook when I practice.
I was wrong.
For some reason, these mini-illustrations have been taking me much more time than I expected and in one day I can make up to 4 sketches (if it is a particularly good day), and a minimum of 2 sketches.
In these last four days I managed to make the first 12 characters... and no inking.
Taking this in mind, I've chosen to prioritise the sketches and finish the 31 cards on pencil, to later do the inking at a calm pace.
But at the end of it all, I am liking this challenge a lot, despite the hours I've spent correcting faces over and over again.
It's helping me visualise my characters in a different world, and design other characters that have only lived in drafts of my original script.
