Why I'll NEVER use WordPress for a web host again!!!

Nov 18, 2020

About three years ago, I decided to make a website to boost my youtube channel traffic, try my hand at merch, and blog recipes, and my personal life as well. I wanted to come across as more professional on all of my social media platforms. Being that I like to save money here and there, I wasn’t aware that the money I was using to pay for my brand, which was allowing hackers of what I’m assuming was a different origin completely to destroy my hard-earned work with whatever they pleased, specifically porn. I should probably add, that I’m currently on a fixed income. Not only did this hurt my reputation as a professional, but it hurt my reputation as a woman of society as well.

I had to start entirely from scratch with my Twitter, but luckily I was able to keep my videos from being permanently deleted, as well as maintain my original Instagram account. In the future, I’ll think twice before paying for a run of the mill site host. Most of the time, I’m a pretty happy positive person, but during those several months, I was depressed and angry. I was angry at myself for trusting strangers with my professional work life, and I was depressed because every time I logged in to social media, my reputation was being flushed down the toilet.

A few months later, I finally took down the site and after months of rebuilding my reputation, I’m in a much better place spiritually, and mentally. I hope y’all take a page from my book and learn to be patient. Sometimes, even though I find it especially difficult in these times of quarantine and self-isolation, I’ve learned to take each day as it comes, with thankfulness, and a grateful happy heart.
