What dreams may come

What dreams may come

Aug 21, 2020

Soooo many of us don't dream. We did when we were younger but for a variety of reasons, most of us don't do it much anymore.

Maybe we think we don't deserve it? Or we are simply afraid of failure?

We do identify with the idea of grieving and then coming to terms with our limitations.

Sometimes we feel like our options are limited. Not just because of ADHD, but because..life happens.

Some of us had "dream big" parents, while others had more dismissive parents. A few of us had parents who wanted us to always get the A, anything less was failure.

One thing is for certain:

We are all capable of more and we know it

It's frustrating to know that you have so many interests and passions, but you feel unable to pursue any of them because you're so busy trying to manage everyday stuff.

Being seen v. being validated

there is a difference between being noticed, and being validated. Some of us really want validation.

It's hard to get validation if you refuse to step into the light and let people see you, your work, or who you are.

It's hard to ask for validation, or acknowledgment when someone in your life is telling you to be grateful for what you have.

Ways to be more SEEN and Validated:

  • try to let go of people pleasing

  • work on perfectionism

  • spend time on self-care and personal growth

  • use your words when you can (even if it's delayed)

  • put on blinders as necessary (social media, family drama etc)

  • find the people who do SEE YOU, and talk about it

When all else fails have a cocktail and post a rant in the Enclave.
