Sometimes it takes a prototype

Sometimes it takes a prototype

Just something of interest before it heads to the recycle bin. Here's the prototype Star Destroyer bridge decking. I was attempting to divide parts in such a way as to leave the least amount of waste material. However I felt there were far too many dividing lines and adding the other half of the bridge would leave things asymmetrical.

Also note how the support posts were cut plastic and assembled as well. These cut pieces are very times consuming and that adding a LOT of labor time on my end. Add to that, the "flashing" clean up needed by the customer, and additional material cost in sheet plastic, and it made sense to simply go with resin cast posts. I also was able to ditch some of the unnecessary joists.

This wasn't a cheap prototype and there's really no use for it, so into the recycle bin it goes. Thought you'd appreciate the peek.
