Microforest Planting Day

Microforest Planting Day

Jun 26, 2022

On Mon June 13, Elemental Impact, my environmental non-profit, participated in the Colony Cove microforest planting day. Around 100 volunteers planted 4,000 diverse, native-tree saplings on the one-acre peninsula in the Manatee River.

Beyond carbon sequestration, microforests provide stormwater abatement, reduce/eliminate grounds maintenance, benefit urban wildlife, and are a natural haven for local residents. Visit the Colony Grove Microforest photo gallery for a visual recap of the monumental day.

Thank you for your support of my important work rewilding urban landscapes. I hope you will follow me and learn how you may benefit the local environment via restructuring your yard, volunteering at planting-day events, and/or joining local organizations dedicated to native-plant landscapes and beyond.
