A second day of sunshine, not quite as warm as the previous one but certainly a welcome contrast to the mud of ickledot’s previous visit. The day’s opponents were Kenilworth.
The home side scored first but any thoughts of an easy afternoon were quickly dashed as the visitors were strong; well organised, fierce in defence and threatening when on the attack. However, Harrogate were able to overcome these challenges, scoring two more tries before half time, a single one coming in reply from Kenilworth.
The second half was particularly closely fought, with both sides scoring two further tries. Harrogate held on to their lead though, bringing a welcome win towards the end of a season which has been dogged by injury.
