An even shorter shorter cycle this week - particularly welcome with the temperature touching 30 degrees - to Oxenhope Cricket Club for a fixture against Queensbury.
ickledot arrived with the home side batting and three wickets down. More fell but each batter added to the tally before departing and the lower order contributed particularly well. The innings closed with 279 on the board.
To better capture Oxenhope’s bowling performance but also to get into the shade, ickledot shifted to a position behind one of the bowlers. As it turned out, the hosts only needed their two openers. The speedy duo dispensed with the visitors with only 81 on the board. Some resistance was offered by the, shall we say, ‘more experienced’ batters in Queensbury’s lower order but by then their cause was lost.
