Second game of the new season for Yorkshire Academy. The first had yielded a creditable away draw so hopes were high for this first home fixture against Northampton Saints. The venue was Sheffield Hallam University Sports Centre - the weather at kick off T-shirt warm but rather overcast.
Unfortunately, though the skies brightened, the fortunes of the home side didn’t, as the visitors scored points at regular intervals throughout the game. Yorkshire replied with a try in each half and competed well for 80 minutes but overall the opposition was too strong on the day. Still, lessons learned and much to be positive about for the coming season. You can see more pictures from the game here.
