Busy busy

Busy busy

Jul 20, 2023

I have decided that I quite like writing here, it gives a little space and time to think about what goes on behind the scenes and some of the complexities of the websites.

It has been busy the most important news is that my partner had a baby in June, Belle is already causing chaos with her music and sleep choices so what she makes of Bella next week is anyone's guess.

From a financial position (as you have all contributed to the site at some point (if you have not feel free:)) the website is paid up for the year and we are now looking at making sure we are in a position for next year and also considering the extra help we need to build more (as you will tell from the website it is all sticking plasters and fast fixes). This is the same with our social media :)

We have changed focus a little with the need to create unique or different content so there are a tone of interviews on the website, it is nice to be able to cut through press releases and get a real feel for the musicians that grace the area.

It would be great if you could have a look our Belladrum previews this year, we have been lucky to get some great q and a's with up and coming acts and if that means that they gain a bigger virtual or in person audience then that's job done. I have also seen the popularity of our sister Facebook group Belladrum Festival Fan Group which has taken a bit of time but I feel contributes to the general community the festival has built.

So our festival coverage has changed a lot this year, initially it was me and Gigs Jr and our phones capturing the festival from a different perspective. This feels positive and acknowledges baby Belle. However the opportunity arose to welcome back a photographer and I am really delighted that Roddy Mackenzie will be taking photos of the event (although in a far far less hectic and pressured role than in the past).

Right I better go, the baby is sleeping, there are five articles that I would love to get up on the site (including ones from BEMZ and rising star Rhoehaisse Clark).

Chris

Ps as you have supported the site before, it would be great if you could consider liking our brand new playlist Fresh Music Scotland 2023, there are a few tracks on it and it will be growing (if I have missed any new tracks please send me a message)
